Privacy

Photos are named on your Mac. They leave it only when Claude names them: with your own Claude key, or with Pro's hosted naming.

On your Mac

When Claude names a photo

With a Claude key or Pro, the Automatic engine uses Claude. For each photo it sends:

File names, coordinates and the original file are never sent.

Anthropic handles API data under its privacy policy. To keep everything on your Mac, pick Apple Vision or Apple Intelligence in Settings → Naming.

What the hosted-naming server keeps

No photos, text context or names. It keeps:

Cloudflare runs the server and handles each connection under its privacy policy.

Payments and licence keys

Polar takes payment, sends the receipt and issues your key. The app contacts Polar to activate a Mac (with the key and the Mac's name, shown in your Polar customer portal) and to check the key about once a week. The hosted-naming server checks it with Polar too.

Updates

The app checks BetterAirdrop's site for updates. Turn it off in Settings.
